Principal Investigator

Serves as the contact PI and is responsible for the overall conduct of the study. Oversees the research staff and practice training, data collection, analysis, and dissemination work with Dr. Himmelfarb.

What do you do to keep your heart healthy?

As Co-Principal Investigator of the study, Dr. Himmelfarb is jointly responsible for the overall conduct of the trial. She jointly oversees the research staff and practice training, data collection, analysis, and dissemination work with Dr. Commodore-Mensah and leads study participants recruitment.

Collaborates with Principal Investigators to provide leadership in developing, directing, and managing all aspects of the LINKED-BP Program. Manages study staff in the overall coordination and implementation of the trial.

"To keep my heart healthy, I switched to a pescatarian diet.”

Post Doctoral Fellow ​

Collaborates with the research team to carry out an array of activities, including research, scholarship, and conference presentations. Learns leadership through research protocols, data management, and analysis; preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, and conference presentations; and leadership of interdisciplinary research groups to develop, implement, and evaluate theory-driven strategies to reduce cardiovascular health disparities.

What do you do to keep your heart healthy?
"To keep my heart healthy, I take my HTN medication and have some form of physical activity at least 3 days a week: yoga, dancing, walking, and meditation."

"
To maintain a healthy heart, I stay active by training for a 10-mile run and playing soccer twice a week. I focus on reducing carbs in my diet, take supplements, and get blood tests twice a year for check-ups. This balanced approach keeps my heart strong and healthy."

"To keep my heart healthy, I try to reduce my intake of salty and sugary foods and drinks. I work out for at least 30 minutes three to four times a week."​
